Los Guido is a shantytown southeast of San Jose, where we provide a weekly children's program at the invitation of the local Methodist pastor.

This is a typical street scene in this sector of Los Guido.  While there is often electricity and running water, the houses are usually cobbled together from available materials, and families with many children often share just a couple of rooms.  The dirt streets are also prone to flooding during the eight-month rainy season.

In addition to being the home of our weekly Light of Hope Center, the church also hosts a soup kitchen where local children can receive breakfast and lunch four days a week. Its location right next to the elementary school lets it be a real blessing to many children.
