Methodist Church in Llano Grande – "Puerta de Jehova"
Update (July 09): Please enjoy the slideshow at the bottom of the page, with pictures of the baptism ceremony held in the Orosi Valley in June. Nine new Christians were baptized in a beautiful creek- side ceremony, and we were deeply blessed by being asked to participate.

Pictured below is Gerardo Mata, one of the seminary students from Cartago, east of San Jose. About four years ago, Gerardo was called to start a small church in a farming community near the Irazu volcano. Since that time the congregation has grown to about 60 members. They used meet in a converted truck garage, but by God's provision they were able earlier this year to move into a new, more suitable building. We often attend Gerardo's church and we are always blessed by their worship and their spirit of fellowship. They are truly a growing community of loving people.
The church's vision is to eventually purchase a piece of property nearby and start building their own sanctuary. In the short term, Gerardo's family is in need of a car, which would especially help them travel with their son, Marco, who has muscular dystrophy. Please call or write if you are interested in helping this congregation or Gerardo's family.
