              2007 (and older) PICTURES

In December 2007 we had an end-of-the-year party at our children's club in Los Guido.  We had brought down gift bags for each child from the States, and we ordered pizzas as well.  As you can see, we had a great time with 96 kids, including games, singing, skits, and dancing.

In August and September 2007, Will taught an introductory course on the Old Testament at the main seminary.  He was glad for a chance to get to know some of the beginning students who had recently joined the Seminary.  The first two pictures below are of this class.

At the same time, he taught a class on liturgy and worship at the regional seminary center in Liberia, in northwestern Costa Rica.  The class was taught over three Saturdays, and he was glad to have such an enthusiastic group of students.  The third picture below is of this regional class.

Here are some other 2007 photos of our Saturday children's center at Los Guido (see main page for description).  The first is of our ministry team, including us, the pastor and his wife, and several women from the church.  We are blessed to have such a gifted group for ministering to the children.  Then there are some new pictures of the children and of the program itself.

Here are a few pictures of the Irazu Volcano. One of Costa Rica's highest volcanoes, it's about an hour's drive east of our home in San Jose.

Here we are at the rim of the main crater:

This is a shot of the main crater and its lake, whose bright color is caused by volcanic minerals:

And here's Will, high above the clouds, pointing the way to the Promised Land (Mississippi, that is):

This is a picture of The Orosi Valley, a fertile area just east of where we live in San Jose.  When we have some free time, we often drive out to enjoy the views and see some of the few ruins still left from the Colonial Era.

This is a picture of our dearest friends, Hugo and Fanny, and their children Huguito and Tannia.  They live in San Isidro, the town where we spent our first two years in Costa Rica.  We cannot describe the blessing this family has been to us; we call them our "Costa Rican parents."

This is a picture from the church's 2006 General Assembly, its annual meeting of all the churches nationwide.  Held every December, this is a great chance for fellowship, worship, and conducting the national business of the church.
